2/14/2014 and the Year of the Heart

 2/14/2014. Do you realize that this is the first time in human history that the day and month of  Valentine's Day appears in the year (at least for those around the world who celebrate it on February 14)? I read somewhere that this will not happen again for another 18,000 years! Seems pretty special to me, but what does it mean?

Valentine's Day is associated with the heart and love. In the US, it is celebrated with cards and gifts of affection for our loved ones. Is there something about this Valentine's Day that sets it apart from the rest?

This Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday and Friday is a Venus day, a day of love. It also happens to be a full moon at 26 degrees Leo, the sign that is associated with expressing our heart’s passion. The Sabian Symbol for this full moon is “Daybreak – The luminescence of dawn in the eastern sky.”  It is about new beginnings, new cycles, the ability to finally leave the past behind, and new ideas and perspectives. A new day is dawning. Take a moment to breathe that in. A new day is dawning: There is hope for the future and that hope is founded in love and following our hearts.

This Valentine’s Day also occurs during the time Mercury is retrograde. This mercury retrograde is especially powerful because it is in the deeply spiritual sign of Pisces during the time of Aquarius. This means unexpected spiritual experiences can happen along with deep transformation and miracles – the rich compost from which our budding selves can blossom. It is indeed time to claim our divinity.

What about the numerology of the Valentine's Day? 2/14/2014 adds up to a 5. The number 5 represents change, freedom, new growth, passion, the unexpected, chaos, and the color red. Is the energy of this day starting to sound familiar?! Dr. Robert Pease, a numerologist, calls 2014 the year of compassion. I call it the Year of the Heart.

This year we will change how we look at our heart – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Not only will we change how we look at it, we will become more heart-centered and learn how to listen to our hearts. Why is this so important? Western civilization has spent hundreds of years focusing on the mind and the brain and separating it from the heart. I don’t think I need to tell you what the effect of this has been on the world. If we are ever to save ourselves from the destruction and devastation we have wrought, we must do so from our hearts first.

How will we look at the physical heart differently this year? It will become common knowledge that the heart is more than a pump. It is also an endocrine gland that secretes hormones and is in communication with the nervous system through neurons or brain cells within it. This has spawned a new branch of study called neurocardiology. We can “think” with our hearts. In fact, the Institute for HeartMath^® has research to show that the heart takes in intuitive information. The heart is tapped into the collective unconscious. Do you understand what that means? We have access to the cosmic computer through our heart.

How will we think about the heart differently? How will our minds change in relation to our hearts? We will finally realize that our minds are a valuable tool that is to be used in tandem with the heart and certainly not in place of the heart. In this society, we have placed more importance on mental intelligence than intuitive and emotional intelligence. Why then, are the heart’s magnetic field 5000 times stronger and its electric field 60 times stronger than the brain’s? Why is the heart so much more powerful than the brain? Because we are hardwired to heaven through our heart.

How will we feel differently about and with our heart this year? We will easily express our emotions through our heart, meaning we will come from a place of compassion while we express how we feel. We will realize the importance and intelligence of emotions. Quite literally, we will fall in love with our heart.

Spiritually, we will know at a very deep level that we are all connected to each other and to God/Source/the Universe through our hearts, and because of it, our behavior will change. We are part of the Universe and the Universe flows through us, through a special place in our hearts. In my upcoming book, Hardwired to Heaven, I call this place the Sacred Coordinate. Through this interdimensional cardiac doorway, we can connect to the entire Universe. The key to unlocking this doorway is love – self-love first and then love for each other and for Source/God. WE ARE NOT SEPARATE FROM GOD OR EACH OTHER. Living this realization will change the world.

What will help these changes to occur? The energy of this extraordinary Valentine’s Day: 

1) Change and Chaos: We receive help from all of the earth changes, governmental and societal changes, and personal changes. We have seen countless accounts of “strangers” helping each other through traumatic times. Remember that creation follows chaos.

2) Freedom: The overwhelming need to be free – free from limiting beliefs, past patterns, karmic debt, limiting social structures, out-dated/corrupt/unfair governmental regulations, and most importantly, free to be who you truly are.

3) New Growth: The urge to create something new will become strong. As we look around, we see out-dated systems that no longer work. It’s time to replace the broken.

4) Passion: This is the year that we get to live our passion, to do what we are most passionate about, and what our hearts have been calling us to do for years now.

5) The Unexpected: The Universe is helping us through unexpected events. Remember that the Universe is always conspiring for us.

2014 will be known as the year of the awakened heart – the year we birthed a whole new way of living. This year we must do what is in our heart. Live our passion and find our bliss. Be true to ourselves and compassionate with others. Live each day knowing that we are never separate from Source or each other. 

Love It Rather than Leave It

Intense times. So many people are near or at their breaking point and it is not because of the holidays. The energy has been building for some time now. Extremes are more extreme. We are experiencing unprecedented weather and earth changes as well as unprecedented governmental and societal changes. We are in for the ride of our lives and it is up to each of us to decide how this wild and crazy ride ends.

During such times of chaos and turmoil, it is important to remember that the energy isn't all "bad." There is a flip side to this insanity - the flowering of the human heart.

Everyday we are shown examples of how our hearts are opening. Recently, a soldier was on his way to work when his pick-up truck slid off an icy road and crashed into a bridge pillar. Stranger and after stranger stopped to help pry him out of his badly mangled truck that was now on fire. One "stranger" realized he knew the first good Samaritan that stopped to help. A third "stranger" stopped, and as he approached the truck, realized that the driver was his captain and shouted, "We can't leave him. We've got to get him out!" Through shear determination, teamwork, and hearts operating in unison, they pulled him out of the 20 inch opening they managed to create just seconds before the truck exploded into flames. This true story is a perfect example that none of us are strangers: We are all related. It also shows what we can accomplish when are hearts are open and act in unison. 

We know the world is facing its greatest challenges: wars, extreme earth changes, new diseases, shortages of clean water, political and social unrest, and radioactive contamination from Fukushima, to name a few. Why don't we include at the top of the list the single most important and life-changing challenge that every one of us will face...the opening of our heart and the call to love? Isn't that what each of the above challenges is calling us to do? 

We are called to make our own powerful internal shift from fear to love, to open our hearts and love even more than we think we can. To love someone who is unkind, to love those who hurt us, to love what we find most reprehensible, this is the path we are called to walk. Love is the way through this. When we live in love with everything and everyone, our lives change in ways we didn't think were possible. 

We have the power to change this world, to love it rather than leave it, to recreate heaven on Earth. This Christmas and beyond, keep the love flowing. Open your heart a little more each day. Commit to doing one thing each day that is heart-opening and loving, a random act of kindness. Help a "stranger." Love the god in each of us.

Crowning Achievements

We entered a new cycle at the beginning of 2013, shortly after the 12/21/2012 gateway. I like to use the analogy of birth because we are really rebirthing ourselves anew. 

July was an intense month full of labor pains. So many of us felt it physically with various symptoms. Interestingly, I had gastrointestinal issues - the area close to the womb. We also felt it emotionally. I felt an extreme amount of stress and pressure similar to labor contractions. 

This week we entered the Lion's Gate, or, as I liken it, the birth canal. We will probably have one more big contraction before the crowning, in late September/October. So many of my friends have some pivotal, potentially life-changing events happening around this time. Two friends will be moving and another may have to move. Another friend will be taking an exam that will determine whether she keeps her current job. Yet another will be meeting with a group of people that may fund a major project of his and finally set the wheels in motion. The completed manuscript for my new book, Doorway to the Divine: Unlocking the Mystery & Magic of the Heart of Creation, will be off to my first publishing house, Findhorn Press, by the end of September.

We will be completing a long stretch of stillness, going within, rest or "gestation." September is the ninth month! We will finally start to see our "crowning" achievements begin to manifest this fall. These events will ultimately push us out into the world. When my book is published in the spring, it will already be international because Findhorn Press is located in Scotland. "Going global" requires us to push past our comfort zones. Birth is not usually comfortable and it is a most joyous experience! Moving to a new location, changing jobs, and achieving life-long goals can be very stressful and wonderful.

This fall, as we embark on a new path of the spiral of life, be prepared for the joy of rebirth and perhaps a bit of postpartum depression. We are leaving behind the afterbirth of our small selves to clear the way for our authentic selves to be born. We are embodying our divine essence so that we may be the shining examples of humanity's greatest potential. Next year we'll roll up our sleeves and get to work creating a new world from our doorway to the divine - our hearts.

Nudging into 2013

Here we are four months into 2013 and I am writing my first blog of the year. I don't know about you, but for me 2012 didn't end until last month. It waited until the astrological new year to finally say good-bye. Mind you, I still have days of daze and lethargy, but something palpable has shifted. Yes, we are in the midst of "The Shift" and in this Shift, the energy pattern changed from somewhat predictable (albeit small) to not predictable at all. 

None of the patterns of old crossed into 2013 from the spring equinox on. From weather "patterns" to personal "patterns," everything seems to be new and a bit chaotic. That's good news since creation comes from chaos and I have the feeling that we will experience a large influx of chaos in a short period of time before the dust settles around the summer solstice. The influx of chaos already started last month with anomalous weather creating huge storms and power-hungry nuclear bravado. 

Personally we are being pushed and prodded not so gently, to FINALLY (Amen!) get moving...and I mean MOVING in every sense of the word. Moving home, moving out of relationships, moving out of jobs, and moving into our expanded soul's purpose. If you haven't felt the cosmic 2x4 yet, then by all means, get going! I've felt it in the past and it isn't pleasant. Is it avoidable? Perhaps and perhaps not. It depends on how big a wake-up call we need.

What am I nudged to do, you ask? The owner of a local metaphysical store/yoga center asked me to bring by more of my books. As soon as I entered the store, I was energetically pushed (I know you know what I mean!) to offer him a session. It had been about a year since I had given a session. Afterward, he told me about his Psychic Fair and asked if I wanted to rent a booth and offer my sessions. When the Universe plops something in my lap, I know enough now to just say "thank you" and go with the flow. He even had a small room for me, since my sessions usually include vocal toning. The feedback I received from my clients sealed the deal for me. It is time to offer my healing work again. 

Just yesterday, a client told me that reading my book, In the Key of Life: An Activational Journey to the Soul, receiving my session, and doing the "homework" I suggested, helped her more than any other practitioner or modality, from traditional to alternative. Even her chiropractor asked her what she had done because she seems more alive now. As she told me what she experienced over the past week or two, tears welled up in my eyes. In that moment, I knew why I had chosen to spend years of self-healing, study, and seclusion. All the time, energy, and money that went into awakening myself, writing the book, and removing myself from mainstream life was worth it, down to the last penny. 

I am also being nudged to get my second book out. Like the first book, it isn't "mainstream." How many people do you know will pick up a book about the physics, biology, and metaphysics of consciousness, creative energy, and the heart? To me, it doesn't matter. What matters is that those who want to read it will "take it to heart." I didn't listen when others told me not to write the first book because it would not sell. The book does what I intended it to do - help people realize who they truly are. My next book provides information and tools to help us create a new world from our hearts. 

Over the weekend, I spoke to the editor of a small local publisher about my new book. "I would love to publish one of your books and I wonder if it is saleable," was her response. Perhaps it's not about how many sell but how much each book that does affects the reader. How do you put a price on that? Maybe the old litmus test of "Will it make money?" is no longer valid. Most publishers wouldn't agree with me. Whether it gets picked up by a publisher or I self-publish it as an e-book, the information needs to be shared.

Whatever direction you are nudged, remember that we are living in new energy now. What was acceptable, normal, or predictable, no longer exists. We are creating the new "norms" in each moment. Follow your heart even though it makes no sense. What does? As I wrote in my first book, "Your heart knows what no one else has seen."

Through the Zero Point

2012, the year that so many of us anxiously awaited for decades, is almost a memory. The end date of the Mayan Calendar is just two weeks away. 

Here I am at the precipice of a new world, and I can hardly get out of bed some days. Lethargy, aches and pains, emotional swings, memory loss, feelings of loss and being lost at times, sitting and starring, waiting and wondering, all the while doing nothing, describes my days. How do I create my new life and co-create this new world when it feels like I have early onset dementia?

This bardo-like state is a natural result of the many "deaths" I have experienced this year. How could it be otherwise? The world, as we have known it, is ending. Everything is changing at warp speed and yet, I seem to be moving at a snail's pace. What in what world is going on?!

Maureen Moss says we are at zero point. Others liken these times to being in the birth canal. I agree. We are inbetween two consciousness spirals. 

For many years, society was focused on the individual and even used the phrase, the "me" generation. For the lightworkers, it meant inner focus and work because we know if there is no peace within, there can be no peace without. 

Our next consciousness level is characterized by unity consciousness, or the "we" generation. Our attention turns outward as we co-create our new world from our hearts, not our heads. Thank God. I have no idea where my mind is.

When we switch from the "me" to the "we" consciousness spiral, the spiral changes direction. Whenever we break the plane of consciousness from one level to the next, there is a still point. Look at it this way, while driving an automobile, you have to stop before you put it in reverse. I wonder if my gears are stripped because I seem to be stopped for a while now!

Here is an image for these times. (After you read this, you will probably agree that I have lost my mind.) If you extend the lines of the "M"in the word "me" and bring them together until they touch, it will form a heart. Similarly, if you extend the lines of the "W" in the word "we" and bring them together until they touch, it will form an upside heart.

Now imagine putting the heart formed from the "M" and the heart formed from the "W" together until they touch at the apexes. It will form an "X" or an hour glass shape at the center. This is the shape at the center of a torus, which is the shape of the universe or any spiraled galaxy or vortex. The "V" portion indicates the spiral of the vortex spinning above, the point of intersection in the middle represents zero point, and the inverted "V" below indicates the vortex spinning outward in a different direction from how it was spinning above. The "V" on top naturally focuses energy inward. The inverted "V" on the bottom focuses energy outward. Neat, huh? What is the significance of the hearts, you ask? We become heart-centered instead of mind-centered. 

We recognize that the mind is just a tool. Like a computer, it helps us to interpret data. The heart, whose electromagnetic field is 5000 times stronger than the brain's, becomes our mission control. We get in touch with our feelings and they direct our actions. Love becomes our guiding principle.

Things seemed to accelerate in 2012 because we were near the apex of the vortex, where the speed increases. As water spins down a drain, it gains speed as the diameter of the vortex decreases. For now, we are at zero point, that place of suspended animation where no movement and all movement exist at the same time. In 2013, we begin our new journey from the apex of the vortex! Yeah! (I think.) 2013 may be like riding a rocket towards our dreams.

For now, I think I will put on some water for tea, sit and watch the sun dance off the ripples on the canal, and count my blessings. This bardo state, like everything else, shall pass.

Welcoming the New

As the old becomes just an image in our rear-view mirror, it is time to embrace the new. As the world changes, so must we. We have seen historic lasting change on the east coast in Sandy's aftermath. Many places will never look the same. What has this massive clearing, cleansing, and cataclysm brought us? Sandy's super swirling vortex changed all our lives forever, not only physically but spiritually. 

This behemoth of a storm impacted more than just the east coast of the US: It will have a ripple effect around the world. Just as a pebble causes ripples in a pond, Sandy's swirling energy has already rippled out across the planet. What message did she give us? We are all part of a single earthly family who need each other, especially in times of crisis. 

For years, the masters told us that we are all one. It was nothing more than a concept for many, until now. We are standing at the threshold of unity consciousness with our hearts wide open. We now feel what it means to be all one. We know it in our hearts. Love becomes our guiding principle.

Last night the news told a story about a single woman, new to New York City and her neighborhood. The woman said she never knew her neighbors until the storm. The entire building was without power and all of her neighbors came together to help each other. She said lovingly about her neighbors that she never knew how wonderful they were and that she feels safer now than before the storm. "I sleep with my door open. We all do." 

We are each a part of a greater vortex of love. With our open hearts leading the way, the world we are creating will be a much different place. I am beginning my new blog, Life Lines...for a new world, with advent of Sandy to provide words of inspiration, introspection, and encouragement as we consciously build our new earth from our hearts.

Divine Initiations

This past week has been one powerful initiation after another. It started on Tuesday with the yearning to walk in the woods. I drove to a local trail and walked to a swampy area where I was greeted by a dragonfly who landed on me. As I was taking in the beauty of the water lilies, listening to the bullfrogs, and watching the butterflies, I found myself doing ceremony to remove any and all shields that kept me from living as the god that I AM. After I removed a shield over my heart, I looked up and directly above me was a heart-shaped cloud. Not only did the heavens partake in the ceremony, various creatures took turns: a butterfly appeared to symbolize my transformation and the squawk of a blue jay reminded me to use this power wisely. It was as if a higher consciousness entered me and performed the ceremony. From that moment, I knew the Joan I used to be was gone.

A couple of days later, I went to view a life-sized replica of the Moses' Sanctuary and the Hebrew Tabernacle. I knew I needed to see it since several years ago I had witnessed a "burning bush" with a friend of mine. The bush was just behind the house across the street from my friend's house. Several days after the fire, I went to visit her. My friend's house was untouched by the fire that had consumed seven homes. I looked across the street and saw there was no bush in the area where both of us had witnessed the "burning bush."  "Liz, there was no bush there," I said incredulously. "I know, freaky," she responded.

A lovely young woman from Brazil led the tour through the sanctuary. As she was explaining the diorama in front of us and what we would be seeing later in the tour, I received a download. I am in the process of completing my manuscript for my second book and I realized that the Moses's Sanctuary (which later became Solomon's Temple) symbolizes what the book is about: remembering our divinity. I had written about the significance of blood and gold and I was being shown how the ancients performed their alchemical ceremony of atonement that I discuss in the book as taking place within us now. While we were seated at the holy of holies, the tour guide said we are living in the time of atonement. We are able to become "golden" and overcome disease, death, and all other limitations. Not only was it another confirmation about the information in the book, it confirmed that I am remembering my divinity.

The next day, I was asked by a soul sister to coordinate a remote group healing session for the following morning for her sister. When it is divine timing, everything easily falls into place. Five powerful healers swiftly came together and answered the call. My twin flame, Steven, was one of the healers and had called me just before the group session. "This is as much about all of us as it is for her," he said. I agreed, wondering what other miraculous occurrence would befall me. As my part in the healing, I assisted in transmuting the energy as I was feeling what she and her sister were feeling. I have never felt someones pain that intensely before - another initiation, I thought.

On Sunday, I was guided to rewrite my DNA. I know that our beliefs can change our DNA and what I was told was that the power of the written word was needed in the re-writing. So with pen and paper in hand, I started to rewrite my DNA. When I was about to finish, the phone rang. It was my friend and editor who was also one of the healers. Through our conversation, I realized the thread I needed to carry through the chapter I am writing and understood its importance in the book. Not surprisingly, I have had the most resistance to writing this chapter since this chapter tells my story, why this book is the natural outcome of what I have experienced, and reveals who I really am to the world. 

Earlier that morning, I had done some tracking with the pendulum and I knew I was the next in line for healing. After my conversation, I finished rewriting my DNA and then sent an email. While on Facebook, I noticed that Steven was online. After instant messaging him about my healing, he immediately called me to assist.

My father died over thirty years ago and my uncle died over ten years ago. I found out that both had decided to stay with me and protect me. It takes quite a bit of energy for a spirit to do this and the energy they needed came from me. This explained my lack of energy and many physical symptoms. With unconditional love, we sent them back to the light. Not only had I rewritten my DNA, but I also removed my familial ties. Clearly, I am not the Joan I used to be.

I have been living my next book, Remembering Your Divinity: Entering the Heart of Creation, as I have been writing it. This week was an initiation in re-membering my divinity. Guess what the thread is for the chapter I was so reluctant in writing? It is about my heart. The heart is our connection to Source and our divinity.
